Master Tajweed Rules with a Certified Aalim

Tajweed is the science of Quranic pronunciation — the set of rules that governs how each letter and word of the Quran should be articulated. Learning Tajweed is essential for every Muslim who recites the Quran, as proper pronunciation preserves the meaning and beauty of Allah's words. Our online Tajweed classes provide comprehensive, one-on-one instruction with Abdul Rahman, a certified Aalim who has dedicated over 13 years to teaching Quranic recitation.

What You Will Learn

  • Makharij (Articulation Points) — Learn exactly where in the mouth and throat each Arabic letter originates
  • Sifaat (Letter Qualities) — Understand the characteristics that distinguish similar-sounding letters
  • Madd (Prolongation) — Master the rules of elongation with proper timing (2, 4, or 6 harakat)
  • Idgham (Assimilation) — Learn when and how letters merge in recitation
  • Ikhfa (Concealment) — Proper pronunciation of hidden Noon Sakin and Tanween
  • Iqlab (Conversion) — Rules for converting Noon Sakin to Meem sound
  • Qalqala (Bouncing) — Proper bounce for Qalqala letters when stopping
  • Ghunnah (Nasalization) — Correct nasal sound duration and application
  • Rules of Ra and Lam — Tafkheem (heavy) and Tarqeeq (light) pronunciation
  • Stopping and Starting (Waqf and Ibtida) — Proper places to pause and resume recitation

Course Levels

We offer three levels of Tajweed instruction: Beginner for those who can read Arabic but want to learn basic rules, Intermediate for students who know some rules and want to deepen their understanding, and Advanced for those preparing for Ijazah (certification in Quranic recitation). Each student is assessed and placed in the appropriate level.

This includes students who have completed our Nazra & Qaida course, Hifz students who want to ensure their memorized Quran is recited correctly, adults who have been reading Quran for years but never learned proper Tajweed, and anyone who wants to beautify their recitation and fulfill the obligation of reciting the Quran as it was revealed.
